Luisa Fernanda Alfonso revisits the archetypes of the character dancer and the mariachi: excessively dramatic, virtuosic, sexual. She explores their excesses and, through nostalgic Latin American associations, distances dance from its heritage and traditions.

Developed in collaboration with composer Peter Rubel, Masterpiece constructs, deconstructs, repeats, modulates and interrupts the Latin American songs and dances it summons. This powerful solo constantly oscillates between searches for harmony and disharmony, consonance and dissonance. On stage, Luisa forms a sentimental relationship with speakers who have become for the occasion sound sculptures, bearers of affects, her acoustic partners and lovers.
