We invite you to the 8th edition of the Almost Summer Festival, from 10 to 20 June in Kortrijk. Come and discover new works that were partly conceived and made at BUDA.
The programme has grown step by step, shaped by projects that each explore the theme of invisibility in their own way. Invisibility that leaves room for the imagination, or that serves the interests of the powerful. It can be a force or a poison. Golden fractures, forgotten extras, colonial traditions and creatures that seemed to have sunk away – the artists bring to light what remains hidden beneath the surface.
We’re wrapping things up with a party! On 20 June, we’ll be celebrating BUDA’s 20th anniversary with a performance by Lydia McGlinchey, created especially for the occasion.
During each Almost Summer festival, we open a school where you can experience unique artistic practices, engage with others and discover the fascinating work of artists.
This is part of an important line of activities developed at BUDA – ‘Learning Together’ – which seeks to create a collective space for reflection based on the many areas of research carried out by artists in various fields of society, whether political, social or economic.

The lowered banks of the river are the place to be during the festival! Here, you can enjoy a refreshing drink and a fresh veggie meal. It is the place to relax, catch up with others about the performances and meet artists.
