Pau trained in contemporary dance at the CNR in Lyon, then at the CNSMDP in Paris. Pau’s choreographic practice is shaped by a transdisciplinary approach to performance, with particular attention to sound experiment and documentary research. Their projects explore the intersection of the intimate and the political through marginal, creature-like, and burlesque identities built from documentary inquiry.
As a pedagogue, Pau has developed and shared dance practices centred on care as a source of collective empowerment, transmits protocols drawn from their own research, and supports students in building their own performative research practice.
Since founding the association Suprabénigne in 2013, Pau has created Exploit (first prize and audience prize at the Danse Elargie competition at the Théâtre de la Ville), Sérendipité/Lo-fi dance at the Cité internationale, Perlaborer (a commission for Les Sujets à Vif in Avignon, with Vincent Dissez), Postérieurs at the Ménagerie de Verre, and La Grande Remontée at arts centre BUDA.
