Welcome to the table. On the menu today: plant-based pancakes, served with a side of alternatives to care and family.

Since the dawn of industrialism and capitalism, the nuclear family has been the norm. But what are possible alternatives? In her long-term social art project Tafelen, Anna Schlooz investigates various forms of family and care, inspired by her experiences in youth care and queer communities. In 2025, her focus shifts to future visions: what do the lives of queers who don’t have children look like? Anna invites people with first-hand experience and explores the role of care in their lives, the loss inherent in not becoming a parent, and their desires for the future.

Join them at the table and explore Anna’s research.
